Zelenskyy: China Dissuades Other Countries from Attending the Peace Summit

Ukraine currently has confirmations from 106 countries regarding their participation in the Peace Summit in Switzerland on June 15. However, Russia is attempting to hinder its conduct, and China is helping it, said President Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

"We have confirmations from 106 countries. And these are at a high level: at the level of leaders or high-level representatives of their countries... Russia today is traveling around many countries in the world, threatening a blockade of food, agricultural products, or chemicals, or with energy prices, or simply pressuring other states in the world so that they do not attend the summit."

Later, the Ukrainian leader compared the positions of the US and China regarding the Peace Summit and emphasized that China is working to disrupt it. Ukraine also perceives China's signal of absence from the Summit "without positivity."

“The United States confirmed its participation at a high level. We have a chance that the President (Joe Biden - ed.) will attend. As for China, they have not confirmed their presence at any level. The United States has contacts with some states and encourages them to participate in the Peace Summit. China, unfortunately, on the contrary, is working to prevent countries from coming to the Peace Summit. There is a big difference between these two positions."

Zelensky: Putin Will Applaud Standing If Biden Ignores the Peace Summit

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy believes that "Putin will applaud standing" if US President Joe Biden does not attend the Peace Summit in Switzerland.

The head of state noted that he would very much like President Biden to be personally present at the summit in Switzerland.

"I know that America supports the summit, but we don't know at what level. I believe that this is not a very strong decision with all due respect to every person in the United States of America," Zelenskyy said. He added that now there will be a Peace Summit organized by the whole world "and then there will be something that Russia will try to do."

"I believe that President Biden is needed at the Peace Summit, needed by other leaders who are looking at the reaction of the United States of America. His absence will only be applauded by Putin, personally applauded by Putin, and he will stand for it," added Volodymyr Zelenskyy.

ISW: The US Should Allow Ukraine to Strike Military Targets in Russia with Provided Weapons

According to analysts  from the Institute for the Study of War (ISW), the US should allow Ukraine to hit all legitimate military targets in Russia's operational and deep rear with the provided weapons.

Analysts note that the current lack of clarity regarding American restrictions on the use of US-provided weapons by Ukraine to strike military targets on Russian territory misses the opportunity to deter further Russian offensive efforts across the northern Ukrainian border.

Michael Carpenter, Director for European Affairs at the National Security Council of the White House, stated that the US decision to allow Ukraine to strike Russian territory with American weapons concerns not only the Kharkiv region.

At the same time, Politico reported that US President Joe Biden secretly allowed Ukraine to strike Russian territory with American weapons but exclusively near the borders of the Kharkiv region.

Ukraine Signed a Security Agreement with Sweden

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson signed an agreement on security cooperation between the two countries.

Details regarding the signed agreement are currently unknown.

Overall, Zelenskyy announced that during his stay in Stockholm, three security agreements would be signed.

Earlier, Zelenskyy in Portugal signed a security cooperation agreement with the Prime Minister of this state, Luís Montenegro, aimed at providing long-term support.

Portugal became the twelfth country with which Ukraine has signed this agreement. Recently, it has done so with Spain and Belgium.

A drone of the Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine on May 26 attacked a long-range radar station "Voronezh-M" located in the city of Orsk, Orenburg region of the Russian Federation.
