Macron gathers leaders of French parties to discuss Ukraine

The Elysée Palace has sent invitations to the leaders of French parties represented in parliament for a meeting with President Emmanuel Macron dedicated to the «situation in Ukraine». Macron's meeting with parliamentary leaders is scheduled for the morning of March 7 and will take place in the "St-Denis format," in the suburbs of Paris. Prime Minister Gabriel Attal will also be present at the meeting.

In the same format, the French President hosted party leaders in October 2023, just a few days after Hamas attacks on civilians in Israel, as reported by Le Figaro. The details of the Elysée Palace meeting have not been disclosed, but it is likely to address future parliamentary debates on the cooperation between Ukraine and France in the security sphere, as well as Macron's statements regarding the deployment of Western forces to Ukraine.

Sullivan: Putin Wins Every Day Until the U.S. Approves Aid to Ukraine

Russian dictator Vladimir Putin «wins every day» as long as the U.S. House of Representatives delays passing a new aid package for Ukraine, said Jake Sullivan, the national security advisor to U.S. President Joe Biden, in an interview with CNN.

«The reality is that Putin wins every day that Ukraine does not get the resources it needs, and Ukraine suffers».

He pointed to a «strong bipartisan majority in the House» ready to pass an aid package for Ukraine «if it is brought up for consideration». The report notes that the Democratic-controlled Senate has already passed a $95 billion aid package for Ukraine and other U.S. allies, including Israel. However, in the House of Representatives, Republican Speaker Mike Johnson is under pressure from pro-Trump far-right factions within his party who are reluctant to bring the package to a vote.
