Zelensky: Ukraine will receive 42 F-16 aircraft

President Volodymyr Zelensky said from the Netherlands that 42 F-16 fighter jets «will be in Ukrainian skies».

«F16. A breakthrough agreement. Starting today, we have specifics. They will be in the Ukrainian sky. Thank you, Netherlands! Thank you, Mark!»

Zelenskyy posted a selfie with Dutch Prime Minister Mark Rutte in front of an F-16.

Later, Zelensky added that Ukraine will receive 42 F-16 fighters.

Earlier, Danish Defense Minister Jakob Ellemann-Jensen announced that Denmark, together with the Netherlands, would provide Ukraine with F-16 fighter jets to protect Ukrainian airspace from Russian aggression.

The Telegraph: China helps Russia with weapons

China supplies Russia with helicopters, drones, optical sights and metals used in the defense industry. This is stated in an investigation by The Telegraph.

According to the newspaper, Russian companies, including those under sanctions, which produce missile launchers, armored vehicles and strategic bombers, received tens of thousands of supplies from China between the beginning of Russia's full-scale invasion of Ukraine and the first quarter of this year.

«This comes at a time when China, which insists it is neutral, is trying to position itself as a key peacekeeping mediator in negotiations aimed at ending the conflict», the investigation says.

Russia hits Chernihiv center with missile, there are dead and many wounded

Russian troops struck the drama theater in the center of Chernihiv at around 11:30 a.m. on August 19, probably with a ballistic missile. There are dead and many wounded.

The search and rescue operation at the site of the Russian invaders' strike in Chernihiv is completed, the number of victims has increased to 144 people, 7 dead.

7 people were killed. 144 wounded, including 15 children and 15 police officers.

New military aid from Germany: 2 more IRIS-T launchers

The German government has reported on the next tranche of military aid to Ukraine, which included, among other things, 2 IRIS-T launchers.

In addition to the IRIS-T launchers, Germany has handed over more than 4,500 155-mm smoke shells to Ukraine. The new package also included 10 GO12 ground surveillance radars.

Ukraine also received four HX81 tractors and four semi-trailers, as well as eight forklifts.

Another country to join G7 declaration on «security guarantees» for Ukraine

The Bulgarian government decided to join the Group of Seven countries' declaration on long-term security commitments to Ukraine at a meeting on August 16.

The government emphasized that Bulgaria provides political and practical support to Ukraine, «which, by countering Russian aggression, also contributes directly to the defense of freedom, security and sovereignty of all European member states».

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Bulgaria was instructed to inform about the decision.
