ISW: Ukrainian Armed Forces achieved tactically significant successes at the front

The Institute for the Study of War (ISW) has noted  tactically significant successes of the Defense Forces in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region.

Analysts note that Ukrainian forces have made tactically significant gains in the western part of the Zaporizhzhia region as counteroffensive operations continued in at least three frontline areas on August 11.

Geo-location data released on August 11 confirms that Ukrainian forces have reached the northern outskirts of Robotyno (10 km south of Orikhiv) in the western Zaporizhzhia region, although the permanence and extent of these positions are unclear.

ISW recalls that Ukrainian forces have been conducting regular ground attacks in the direction of Robotyno for several weeks as part of operations aimed at weakening Russian defenses.

 

Office of the President of Ukraine: Preparation of Ukrainian «peace formula» supported by 58 countries

As many as 58 countries have supported the preparation of the Ukrainian Peace Formula, the head of the Presidential Office, Andriy Yermak, said on Friday.

«If last time (at the meeting on August 5 in Jeddah - ed.) we had 43 countries, today there are already 58. And this is not the end, and I can also say that we have a large number of countries that want to join.»

According to Yermak, 10 groups have already been created for each point of the "peace formula". "Our specialists will work in these groups, and international experts will also be involved," he said.

 

MEDIA: German government plans to provide Ukraine with long-range Taurus missiles

The German government may soon decide to provide Kyiv with long-range Taurus cruise missiles capable of hitting targets at a distance of up to 500 km.

According to reports from the circles of the ruling Social Democratic Party, the German government plans to announce the supply of Taurus cruise missiles to Ukraine «in the near future,» the German edition writes.

«The Chancellery is currently working on this issue with Germany's most important ally and biggest supporter of Ukraine, the United States of America,» the publication says.

 

Ukraine receives new Patriot air defense systems from Germany

On Wednesday, the German government reported on the latest tranche of military aid to Ukraine over the past week, including two Patriot air defense missile launchers.

In addition to the Patriot launchers, Ukraine received 6,525 155-mm smoke munitions, 10 BV206 all-terrain tracked vehicles, five border guard vehicles, and four VECTOR reconnaissance drones from Germany.

The report also mentions materials for the disposal of explosive ordnance, more than a thousand binoculars and 20,000 safety glasses, six 8x8 HX81 tractor trailers and five semi-trailers, two 8x6 truck tractors with containers, and 40,000 first aid kits.

 

Pentagon: Biden gives green light for Ukrainian pilots to train on F-16s

U.S. President Joe Biden has approved training of the Ukrainian military on American F-16 fighters. The Pentagon emphasized that the training process is led by Denmark and the Netherlands.

«As you know, the process of training Ukrainian pilots on F-16 fighters is led by Denmark and the Netherlands. President Biden gave the green light to allow and support the training process.»
