Russians strike at Dnipro suburb: children among wounded, people under the rubble

As a result of the Russian shelling of the Pidhorodnenska community near Dnipro, 13 people were injured, including 3 children, and people are trapped under the rubble of a house.

President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said that the Russians attacked Dnipro and hit between two two-story residential buildings. 

«Once again, Russia proves that it is a terrorist country. Russians will be held accountable for everything they have done against our state and people,» he wrote

SKY NEWS: Capture of Bakhmut cost Russia 60,000 killed and wounded

The West estimates that Russia has lost more than 60,000 troops as a result of its attempts to capture the city of Bakhmut in eastern Ukraine.

«We believe that the capture of Bakhmut probably cost Russia at least 60,000 casualties in the Bakhmut-Popasna sector during the year-long battle,» the official said.

The United States provides new aid to Ukraine: Patriot ammunition and Stinger systems

The United States has announced another $300 million military aid package for Ukraine.

This was reported in the Pentagon.

The new US military aid package includes additional air defense equipment, artillery, anti-tank weapons, and ammunition, including small arms.

In particular, it includes additional ammunition for Patriot air defense systems, AIM-7 air defense missiles, Avenger air defense systems, Stinger anti-aircraft systems, precision-guided aircraft munitions, Zuni aircraft missiles, and ammunition for unmanned aerial systems.

The military assistance package also includes AT-4 anti-tank systems, additional ammunition for HIMARS artillery missile systems, 155-mm and 105-mm artillery shells, 105-mm tank ammunition, more than 30 million rounds of small arms ammunition, mine clearance equipment and systems, explosive ordnance for demining, night vision devices, spare parts, generators, and other field equipment.

Macron calls for «tangible and credible» security guarantees for Ukraine

French President Emmanuel Macron has said that the West should provide Ukraine with "tangible and credible security guarantees".

This is reported by Le Monde.

According to Macron, this issue will be the subject of collective discussions in the coming weeks.

He emphasized that Ukraine is «defending Europe today» and is «so well armed» that the West is interested in «having reliable security guarantees with us on a multilateral basis.»

Macron added that Western countries need to be much more ambitious than they have been so far.

Germany to close almost all Russian consulates

In response to Russia's restrictions on the number of German civil servants on its territory, Germany has revoked the work permits of four of the five Russian consulates in Germany.

This was reported by Spiegel.

A spokesman for the German Foreign Ministry in Berlin announced that Germany is responding to Russia's reduction of the number of employees of German diplomatic missions and other organizations, such as the Goethe Institute, to 350 people, and is closing four Russian consulates in response.

According to him, the Russian side was informed of the decision on May 31, and Moscow is being asked to finally close these consulates by December 31, 2023.
