Polish President presents Zelensky with Poland's highest honor

President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy arrived on an official visit to Poland on April 5. 

Zelenskyy arrived with the First Lady. During the full-scale war, this is the first time a visit by a Ukrainian president has been announced in advance.

President Duda and his wife, Agata, welcomed the Zelenskyis to the presidential palace.
   
The Office of the President of Poland said that after the guests are officially greeted by Polish President Andrzej Duda and his wife, the leaders of the two countries will hold talks at the presidential palace. Afterward, the delegations will hold talks.

The topics of the talks include military assistance to Ukraine, post-war reconstruction, and Ukraine's path to the European Union and NATO, as well as historical issues.

Shortly after the meeting ceremony, Duda presented Zelenskyy with an order «for merits in deepening relations between Poland and Ukraine, security activities, and steadfastness in defending human rights,» the Polish president's office said on Twitter.

Duda emphasized that the Order of the White Eagle is the oldest and most valuable Polish award. It is awarded to exceptional people who have contributed to the development of Poland with their lives.
 
Andrzej Duda also said that his country has already prepared eight more MiG-29 fighter jets for transfer to Ukraine.

Duda said that four fighters had been handed over to the Ukrainian armed forces in recent months. Four more are being delivered now, for a total of eight.

«We are ready, I talked to the president about this, to transfer six more, which are now being prepared for this purpose. We assume that they can be handed over quite soon,» Duda said.
