American philanthropist gave a speech in Davos

On January 20, the 53rd World Economic Forum’s Annual Meeting ended in Davos, Switzerland.

2700 official participants made dozens of reports, held hundreds of discussions, presentations, conferences within five days.

Among the participants was the famous American philanthropist Michael Capponi. Michael Capponi – is a humanitarian leader and founder of Global Empowerment Mission (GEM), a charitable foundation, which has been helping Ukrainians since the first days of the full-scale invasion. We have already written about the GEM’s activities, in particular, they were among the first who brought aid to the de-occupied Kherson and recently received an award from the legendary Pelé for their humanitarian work in Ukraine.

On his Facebook page, he posted a video of giving a speech at the World Economic Forum in Davos:

Michael Capponi spoke about the process of working and philosophy of Global Empowerment Mission:

«Our model from day one has been how to get the most of amount of aid, to the most of people for the least amount of money, and the shortest amount of time. That's it!

And the same applies for the rebuilding. Rebuilding comes in many faces. How to get the most amount of students back in school for the least amount of money. How to get the most amount of people back into the apartment buildings for the least amount of money and the shortest amount of time. So that's our philosophy!».

The project «Ukraine: realities» is implemented by the News Agency «Konkurent» together with the Civic Movement «SVIDOMI» and Global Empowerment Mission with the participation of Elina Rozvod, PhD, Assistant Professor of Applied Linguistics Department (Lesya Ukrainka Volyn National University, Lutsk) in English for readers from other countries to tell the stories of people who survived the horrors of the Russian occupation.
